The Cleburne Rotary Club will conduct its first Rotary’s Ragin’ Roundup fundraiser and community celebration from 4-8 p.m. May 27, at the Cleburne Conference Center.
The event, a fish fry for the Cleburne and Johnson County area, will include a Harley-Davidson motorcycle raffle, a 32-inch TV raffle, bounce houses and face painting for kids,live music by Jimmy Jones and others, a motorcycle show, the Cleburne Police Department’s SWAT Team vehicle and a Cleburne Fire Department truck and slide pole for the kids. A portion of a twisted steel-beam located in one of the World Trade Center buildings will also be on display.
The beam will eventually be part of a firefighter’s park and 9/11 memorial in Cleburne when Cleburne’s Fire Station No. 4 is constructed on the north side of town. Some of the funds raised at the event will be go to the construction of the park.
Cost for the all-you-can-eat fried fish fundraiser is $10 each for adult meal tickets or $10 for two children. Tickets for the Harley-Davidson raffle are $50 each and tickets for the TV are $5 each. Participants do not have to be present to win. A maximum of 500 Harley tickets will be sold. Members of the Harley Owners Group will present a Harley-Davidson show.
All funds raised go to Cleburne Rotary Club programs, such as scholarships,dictionaries for third graders throughout Cleburne ISD and some area county schools, academic achievement awards for Cleburne ISD students,computer projects to Mexico and water filtration projects across the world.
